After a three year pause, we are pleased to invite you to the 8th annual San Diego Green Building Conference & Expo on Friday, October 21st, 2022. With over 200 attendees and 40 expert speakers, SDGBCE22 is the sustainability industry's premier conference in San Diego and a must for all industry professionals, leaders and organizations in sustainability.
SAN DIEGO CITY COUNCIL PRESIDENT SEAN ELO-RIVERA TO KEYNOTE!
Council President Sean Elo-Rivera proudly represents San Diego’s 9th City Council District and is committed to the realization of his vision of “Opportunity for All.”
He was elected as Councilmember in November 2020 and then elected City Council President in December of 2021. Before joining the Council, Sean served as an elected member of the San Diego Community College District Board of Trustees and as the Executive Director of Youth Will where he worked to create a future where every young person is happy, healthy, and prepared to reach their potential. He previously spent time leading community organizing, policy, and civic engagement efforts at a local nonprofit. Sean came to San Diego to attend California Western School of Law where he focused on Creative Problem Solving and earned honors for his Pro Bono service while earning his Juris Doctor.
Sean continues to be shaped by his early career as a high school athletics coach as well as his years spent volunteering and teaching abroad in South America and Korea. Family is very important to Sean who grew up in a large family of seven with his parents, a brother and three sisters. He also loves traveling and dining with his wife, Angela, and early morning trips to the beach with their dog, Lexi.

VENUE
This year’s event will be hosted at the centrally located, DoubleTree Mission Valley. The sessions will be held in large open event spaces with lunch and all networking happening on a large patio outside our event space! We also wanted to make sure that this year's venue was easily accessible by transit. DoubleTree Mission Valley is right across the street from the Hazard Center Trolley stop on the MTS Green Line so getting here is a breeze! Free parking available to attendees if needed.

The climate change is affecting us here and now; wildfires, eroding coastlines, catastrophic weather patterns and alarming rates in the rise of CO2 levels and we recognize that our built environment has a large footprint, impacting not only the surrounding environments and communities but the occupants within. VOLUNTEER AT THE CONFERENCE AND EXPO
Volunteering at the San Diego Green Building Conference and Expo gives you free access to the education and networking available at this whole day event. Volunteers like you are critical this event's success. Volunteers must commit to a minimum three hour shift. All volunteer shifts have been filled at this time. Thank you!
OPPORTUNITY CONFERENCE PASSES
Our Equity Advisory Committee has offered Opportunity Passes to 10 applicants this year, aiming to remove the barriers that may make event attendance difficult or impossible for many people. You can support this effort by purchasing a 'Support an Opportunity Pass' ticket with your own.
