Colleen FitzSimons, PMP, LFA, LEED AP BD+C/ID+C, GPR

Executive Director

Colleen is a sustainability professional who has used her technical expertise and project management experience to help project teams understand how to meet the requirements of local and state green building codes, green building certification programs and organizational sustainability goals. While managing the GreenPoint Rated green home certification program she provided educational opportunities and resources while helping Raters understand the nuances of the rating system. She brings her enthusiasm for environmentalism to every project, especially her work leading the San Diego Green Building Council.

Bridget Rickman, GPRO O+M

Community and Programs Manager

Bridget is a San Diegan whose passion for the environment began during childhood. Whether it was participating in beach cleanups, after school recycling programs, or her various work with non-profits across the county, she has been determined to take a hands-on approach to sustainability for years. She has experience in education, non-profits, and sustainable development with a passion for Environmental Justice and Biophilic Design. She holds a Bachelor's Degree from San Diego State University in Sustainability with a minor in Anthropology and is a Citizen's Water Academy Alum. 

Kyra Brandt

Communications Coordinator

Kyra brings knowledge in communications and nonprofits to support SDGBC's sustainability mission. She is an enthusiastic citizen environmentalist, caring for her community through beach cleanups and preventing plastic waste. Kyra received her bachelor's in Anthropology and Art from the University of California, Santa Cruz with her research focusing on human resilience and response to oil extraction in California.
