Building a Sustainable San Diego

Our members are at the beating heart of our community and sustainable change in San Diego. Together we make up the San Diego Green Building Council, a mission driven organization: working to inspire, educate, and collaborate within our community to transform our built environment toward true sustainability.

Membership within our organization directly supports building a sustainable San Diego through mentorship, advocacy, volunteer work, partnerships and more! Your membership directly supports programs and initiatives such as:

  • Mentorship - the new Building Connections Mentorship Program empowers 20+ emerging professionals in developing their green building and sustainability careers.
  • Networking - provides opportunities for in-person and virtual social events to connect our community members, strengthen business connections, share experiences and inspire new ideas.
  • Education - organizes annual local green building conference with over 300 attendees in 2019 as well as provides monthly webinars showcasing the latest in sustainability technology and performance.
  • Green Assistance Program - trains volunteers (over 256 so far) to support LEED certifications and feasibility studies for local nonprofits, with 12 buildings certified and re-certified to date.
  • Advocacy - amplifies community voices and informs San Diego about current sustainable and equitable building movements.
