Workplace Gender Equity: Strategies for a gender balanced workplace

The benefits and importance of gender equity have been a circulating discussion, and a number of local organizations have taken impactful strides to create a workplace culture that leverages and cultivates all professionals for overall success.  Our Fall gathering will feature a dynamic panel discussion of industry leaders, discussing new research findings around the benefits of gender equity – as well as real-world policies, outcomes and lessons learned.

Attendees can expect to leave with a clear understanding of how to go back to their teams and companies to evaluate how they are doing and how they can help move the needle on gender equity in the workplace environment.  We’ll also include tips for the individual professional to push through the common gender equity issues, and proactively champion their own professional trajectory.

Check-in opens at 5pm and the program will begin promptly at 5:30pm. VIEW EVENT FLYER.

This event is open to all gender identities and expressions! We encourage all people to join this important discussion.

He is responsible for the firm’s initiatives on improving issues related to staff equity, parity and diversity, as well as leading Open Studio, an introductory summer design program and internship for underserved high school students in the Seattle area who are interested in architecture as they consider a college career. At Miller Hull and through his volunteer work with AIA Seattle and the College of Built Environments at the University of Washington, Rob is actively involved in moving the practice of architecture forward by advocating for a community of inclusiveness, diversity and gender equity within the profession.

Since joining the Miller Hull in 2002, Rob has become passionate about creating an environment that values the unique strengths of each design team member to envision the best outcome and seek extraordinary results together. In his experience, this often leads to a transparent, integrated team dynamic where team cohesion, collaboration and accountability are at the core of team and project development. Rob’s primary goal is to maintain those relationships beyond project completion.
