Join us on a green building tour of IQHQ’s Research and Development District (RaDD) located in downtown San Diego on the waterfront.  The life science district totals over 1.7m square feet of lab, research, office, and retail space that spans eight city blocks encompassing 10.5 acres and five buildings.  The buildings are substantially complete, and each building is in the process of achieving LEEDv4 Building Design + Construction Core and Shell Gold Certification for all five buildings, in addition to Fitwel Commercial Site Certification.

The all-electric buildings include rooftop solar totaling up to 5% of each building’s annual core and shell energy consumption, unique for urban life science buildings, and the district has planned one of the largest EV charging strategies for Southern California.  In addition, dynamic glass was utilized across the district to preserve the best waterfront views in Downtown San Diego.  Learn more about the project’s sustainability strategies and certifications on this unique tour experience.

Project Team: Gensler (Architects), Turner (General Contractor), OJB (Landscape Architecture), BR+A & Michael Wall Engineering (MEP), KPFF (Structural), RSM Design (Environmental Graphic Design), Negawatt (LEED Consultant), Noresco (LEED Construction Support), Applied Cx (Commissioning), IES Communications (IT/AV), Project Design Consultants & NV5 (Civil)
