ReBru Spirits was born out of the idea of doing more by wasting less. Wine, beer, and spirits all have their origin in locally sourced raw materials. Most styles originated from what was present and abundant in the region. Globalization has allowed us to source grains, hops, yeast, and other raw materials from around the world. This is great for consumer options, but terrible in the quest towards anything remotely close to ‘sustainability’. Is a company that sources its ingredients or packaging from China, then exports the finished product around the nation sustainable because they use recycled materials? We think not. Truly achieving sustainability is an increasingly difficult task, but ReBru's mission is to do everything in their power to do so.
Through a guided tour of their facilities, observe first hand the process of 'recrafting' local beer destined for the drain or landfill. Expert distillers will demonstrate the process, learning from nature: "Through the process of evaporation, ocean water is naturally distilled into rainwater, and we are working with a man-made version of that exact process." Sharing the space with Thorn St. brewery and Hott Mess pizza, repurposing in both directions, closing the loop within their small ecosystem.
