In the next installment of our series of Green Homes Mini-Tours, we are looking at the ways in which our yards and gardens can help heal the earth.
We invite you to visit three properties with yards that are making a positive impact in unique and creative ways.

• Learn how a “zero waste” family of five has been able to produce 70% of their food on a 700 sq foot plot - with plenty to share with friends and neighbors. (SDSU area)
• Check out the ultimate in re-purposing:  a backyard swimming pool converted to a pond, as part of garden that protects pollinators and other wildlife. (La Mesa)
• See how one homeowner was able to stabilize a steep hillside, provide fire protection, conserve water and regenerate soil using native plants and hugelkultur. (Scripps Ranch)
