Join us to understand the definition of decarbonization, zero net energy (ZNE), and zero net carbon (ZNC) buildings. See case studies of completed projects. Understand the design and construction process necessary to achieve high-performance buildings. You will learn about key terminology, market trends, and the direction California is going with sustainability and code requirements.

Rebecca is the Director of Projects at Verdical Group, overseeing a variety of high-performance buildings and material transparency projects. She guides projects through schematic design, feasibility assessments, design iterations, the construction process, and closeout to achieve the client’s sustainability goals.
Rebecca joined Verdical Group from the general contracting industry where she gained valuable experience as a project engineer, project manager, and estimator. These roles enhanced her managing skills for project schedules and budgets, field-work, and communication, all with the highest level of quality and attention to detail. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Loyola Marymount University where she studied Natural Science and Civil Engineering.
Rebecca enjoys connecting with the community through her various volunteering organizations through USGBC and the LMU CIP Mentorship Committee Leader.
Bobby Almeida
PE, CBCP, CEM, LEED AP BD+C, LEED AP O+M
Bobby is the Director of Commissioning at Verdical Group, where he heads up all commissioning and energy auditing efforts. He is a Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Building Commissioning Professional (CBCP), and Certified Energy Manager (CEM). Bobby is an expert in optimizing HVAC controls to minimize energy use without compromising user comfort or ongoing maintenance needs.
At Verdical Group, Bobby brings a sustainability mindset to the commissioning process, complementing our project management services. Prior to joining Verdical Group, Bobby provided commissioning and energy services at other green building consulting firms. Bobby has provided commissioning services on over $2 billion worth of projects, based on total development cost.
